Care Instructions for Your Resin Boards and Trays

Now that you have purchased your beautiful new resin board or tray, it’s important to know how to care for it so you can keep it for years to come!

Hand wash your board with a soft (non-abrasive) cloth and warm soapy water. Dry with a towel or and allow item to fully air-dry overnight.

To keep your cheese or bread board looking brand new, we recommend rubbing a food safe oil onto the wooden surface as needed. All our boards are finished with Walrus Oil cutting board oil to seal the surface with water-repelling beeswax. This gives the board a smooth finish and highlights the rich tones in the wood. Best of all, Walrus Oil is 100% food-safe and free of toxins and synthetics.

For added protection, and even more shine, you can also use Walrus Oil Wood Wax as a second layer after applying the oil. Apply a thin layer, dry for 15 min, then buff with a soft rag.

  • Do not ever put your board or tray in the dishwasher
  • Do not use vegetable or olive oils on the boards
  • Do not let the boards soak in water as the wood may bend, crack or warp
  • Do not place boiling hot items (from oven) on resin surfaces (coasters, boards) as the heat may leave marks
  • Try to keep all resin products out of direct sunlight for long periods of time. UV light exposure can degrade the color of your resin piece and can cause yellowing over time. This includes wall art – hang in a location that does not receive direct sunlight

*Note: Berries and other darkly colored food items WILL stain the wood portion of your board. To avoid this, place those items on the resin portion, or place a piece of wax paper beneath when serving

**The resin used for cheese boards and trays is a BPA-free formula that contains NO VOCs. All ingredients are listed on the USDA approved list for contact with food, once the epoxy has cured completely.
